What a day Saturday was! We (Laura, A.J., and I) went up to Logan Friday night so that we could help Shaun and Natalie finish roofing the house on Saturday. Natalie, Shaun,Doug, and Daniel had been working on this most of the week. They had layers of shingles they had to take off. They had cedar, glass, and asphalt shingles on this roof. You should have seen the pile on the ground. I spent almost the whole day cleaning up shingles and man was that a dirty job. I was filthy!!! I was exhausted by the end of the night. We were going to go to the fair inTremonton, but it was late and we were hungry. So Shaun, Natalie, Laura, and I went to eat Mexican food. AJ was sound asleep by this time. He was worn out from watching his uncle Shaun load shingles into the trailer with the skid loader. It was a good day. I burned tons of calories. It was great!

Sunday was a good day. We went to church and I taught my primary class. I have the best kids in my class. I've got them trained to take notes since we are touching on history of the church stuff. There are a bunch of new young couples in our ward. It's kinda exciting to see new faces.

I hope some more (younger couples) move into our neighborhood and buy up these houses so that we can make the neighborhood better by having some young blood to fix up houses and yards. I'm tired of people that dont' take care of their yard at all. They leave their garbage all over the front lawn. Then we have the drug houses. At least keep the junk organized if it is going to be in the front yard. Make some effort to make it better and not keep adding to the mess. I'm not asking for perfection here, just a little effort to keep things nicer so that people aren't scared to visit our Neighborhood. It's bad enough we already live under the stereotype of the "Westside". Granted it's not the best neighborhood as far as crime goes, but neither is the Avenues or Sugarhouse, but hey! people are willing to pay big bucks to live there. What's sad is that I'm guilty myself for ultimately wanting to live in another part of town. Oh well! Like I always say "Everyone is a hypocrite".

This has been a Teltrust week. I have seen 3 people that I worked with at Teltrust this week. Sunday at church I saw Thad Loertscher and then last night I saw my old boss Rebecca and then Stephanie (Ellsworth) while at Wally world. I can't believe I worked there for 6 years. I can't believe I'm going on 7 years at Convergys.

well, I had my interview and I dont' think it went too well. I was grilled for things that I haven't done for 2 years. I wish that all these jobs that I have interviewed for had been around when I was laid off two years ago. Maybe I'm doomed to find a new career. Maybe Telecom isn't my cup of tea. I should just figure out what I like to do and how to make money at it and start my own company. Now the task would be to find out what I like enough to do everyday.
I just noticed that the time was set to Pacific time. I better change that.
Well, I'm going to start getting ready for my interview. I'm sooooo tired. I have gotten a total of 3 or so hours of sleep in the last two days. I'm beat. I hope I get this job so that I don't have to work graveyards. The only problem is that we will have to get a baby sitter for part of the day while Laura and I are at work. I don't like that idea. I hope Laura won't have to work for much longer. I hope the pay they offer is good if I get the job.
Last night before leaving for work AJ took his first steps by himself. We were sitting in the kitchen and all of the sudden there's AJ standing up and walking. It is very cool to watch children learn.

Here's AJ enjoying his first camping trip.
I just got a call about an interview with Moutain West Telecom. I will interview with them tomorrow. I hope I can find a job that is closer to home. I do like my job I have now, but I don't in any way shape or form like the commute to Orem every night.

I'm so sick of all the diet secrets crap that is promoted on the TV. I'm tired of all the false statements given by the media. I'm tired of trying to follow every fad and being convinced that it's the key to weight loss. I have succumbed to the scientific method of calorie in calorie out. You know what, it works!! I can't believe I have lost 50 lbs in 5 months and I haven't had to starve myself or restrict myself from any certain type of food.

This weekend we had the first Call family camping trip. It was alot of fun. We went up Logan Canyon and camped Friday and Saturday. Friday night we didn't get there until almost 11:00 PM and the gate closed at 10:00. They wouldn't open up the gate so Laura's brother Shaun put signs down over the spikes and guided us over so we could get in through the exit. We almost popped our tire.

Saturday we hung aroung the camp and I cooked breakfast. In the afternoon Shaun and Natalie cooked lunch. They grilled some chicken they marinated over night and it was to die for. Later that day we were supposed to go hiking up to the wind caves at around 6:00, but we didn't and it started to get late. Around 8:00 Laura wanted to go on a walk so we asked Shaun and Natalie if they wanted to go and they said sure. Shea also wanted to come with us. Laura had AJ in the baby carrier backpack. We started walking and we walked past the trail head and read about the trail. It said that it was only 1.3 miles up to the windcaves. We thought "we can do that". So we started up the mountain. After about an hour we made it to the top. It definately was not 1.3 miles. We were supposed to be back in camp at the time we made it to the caves. None of us were really prepared to hike. Shaun had on his Teva flip flops. Shea did really good, he was a little scared at first and he was really scared when we got to the caves, Poor kid.

When we started heading back it was already dark and the only flashlight we had was my little LED light that I carry on my keychain. Shaun lead the way with his built in night vision. When we got to the bottom of the trail Doug, Daniel, and Megan were looking for us. They took us back to camp where we hear from a not too happy Kathy Call. Then we ate. Megan and Amy made some great chicken and potatoes and by that time I was starving. Then hit the sack after some conversation. AJ sure did enjoy the hike. He was the happiest little camper around. he did pretty good for his first camping trip. The first night he slept in the car in his car seat, but on Saturday he stayed with us in the tent. He woke up around 3:00 screaming. I don't know if he was confused about where he was, but we gave him a bottle and got him to go back to sleep. Doug came and checked on us because I'm sure he heard the crying and saw my flashlight in the camp area while I was looking for AJ's formula.

Sunday we woke up around 8:30 and packed up camp. Kathy made french toast and bacon for breakfast and then we took a picture of those of us that stayed the night.

One of the other things that happended was that Shaun and I carved a face into a tree stump.
We accomplished this by using a chainsaw.
