Saturday we hung aroung the camp and I cooked breakfast. In the afternoon Shaun and Natalie cooked lunch. They grilled some chicken they marinated over night and it was to die for. Later that day we were supposed to go hiking up to the wind caves at around 6:00, but we didn't and it started to get late. Around 8:00 Laura wanted
to go on a walk so we asked Shaun and Natalie if they wanted to go and they said sure. Shea also wanted to come with us. Laura had AJ in the baby carrier backpack. We started walking and we walked past the trail head and read about the trail. It said that it was only 1.3 miles up to the windcaves. We thought "we can do that". So we started up the mountain. After about an hour we made it to the top. It definately was not 1.3 miles. We were supposed to be back in camp at the time we made it to the caves. None of us were really prepared to hike. Shaun had on his Teva flip flops. Shea did really good, he was a little scared at first and he was really scared when we got to the caves, Poor kid.
When we started heading back it was already dark and the only flashlight we had was my little LED light that I carry on my keychain. Shaun lead the way with his built in night vision. When we got to the bottom of the trail Doug, Daniel, and Megan were looking for us. They took us back to camp where we hear from a not too happy Kathy Call. Then we ate. Megan and Amy made some great chicken and potatoes and by that time I was starving. Then hit the sack after some conversation. AJ sure did enjoy the hike. He was the happiest little camper around. he did pretty good for his first camping trip. The first night he slept in the car in his car seat, but on Saturday he stayed with us in the tent. He woke up around 3:00 screaming. I don't know if he was confused about where he was, but we gave him a bottle and got him to go back to sleep. Doug came and checked on us because I'm sure he heard the crying and saw my flashlight in the camp area while I was looking for AJ's formula.
Sunday we woke up around 8:30 and packed up camp. Kathy made french toast and bacon for breakfast and then we took a picture of those of us that stayed the night.

One of the other things that happended was that Shaun and I carved a face into a tree stump.
We accomplished this by using a chainsaw.
